Rene de Heer

Bird and Wildlife photographer

I started off as a birdwatcher but soon discovered a camera to record the beauty of the natural world. Although i am mainly interested in bird photography, I also venture out into wildlife and landscape photography from time to time. I founded one of the first nature photography organisations in the Netherlands and it’s still going strong today.

Image manipulation is a no go for me and I limit the use of Lightroom and Photoshop in post production to a bare minimum. After all: a pig in lipstick is still a pig! I currently use Sony mirrorless full frame bodies with lenses from 14mm to 400mm.  I have traveled widely in Europe and further afield to India, the U.S. and Namibia. My main hunting grounds are Eastern Europe and nowadays Spain.

I also give presentations about my work to Photo clubs and societies and can also offer prints of my work in various sizes. Please contact me for further details.
