Rene de Heer
Bird and Wildlife photographer
I started off as a birdwatcher but soon discovered a camera to record the beauty of the natural world. Although i am mainly interested in bird photography, I also venture out into wildlife and landscape photography from time to time. I founded one of the first nature photography organisations in the Netherlands and it’s still going strong today.
Image manipulation is a no go for me and I limit the use of Lightroom and Photoshop in post production to a bare minimum. After all: a pig in lipstick is still a pig! I currently use Sony mirrorless full frame bodies with lenses from 18mm to 500mm. I have traveled widely in Europe and further afield to India, the U.S. and Namibia. My main hunting grounds are Eastern Europe and nowadays Spain. I also organise non-commercial bird-wildlife photography trips to Hungary and Spain. These trips are always much cheaper than through commercial organisations. If you would like more information about these trips, please feel free to contact me.
I also give presentations about my work to Photo clubs and societies and can also offer prints of my work in various sizes. Please contact me for further details.
